We might be visiting in a couple of weeks time and I just wanted to check if a draft of 2mtr will be OK on the visitor pontoon?
I know the approach gets very shallow so will need to plan approach around HW +- 2 but just not sure if we will ground on the pontoon at low water. Assume it's soft mud so sinking in a bit would be fine.
All help appreciated.

A couple of years ago we dropped a crew member off at near LW - we ran aground but he managed to jump off and we reversed off with maximum revs - it's soft mud and we draw 1.4m.

Change of plan.
We're going to pick a buoy at West Mersea instead. Will give us an excuse to get the dinghy out and test the outboard. Leaving Brightlingsea was going to be either a very early start or a late one. Mersea gives us the option of a full english at the Black Pearl before setting off for Lowestoft. ;)

We draw 2m and we're in and out of Brightlingsea all the time (despite my curmudgeonly comments in the other thread about their faciities and charges). Let them know your draft and the harbour master will find you a suitable spot. No problems at all.
