We're currently fitting a Matusec AIS Transponder/GPS and I'm wondering if anyone's connected one of these to a NASA GPS repeater? The Matsutec instruction manual is sparse to say the least, not even a diagram/list/colour chart to say which wire's which. I've clarified that, but can find no info as to which wire is a GPS repeater feed, nor whether it'll output with the correct signal type if I find the right one; hoping someone knows/has done it before I go down what might prove to be a long and fruitless trial and error route.

Isn't the NMEA pin-out info in the user manual, section 10-4?

Yes it is, but in a confusing way. Or at least, in a way which confused me.

Note that "RXD" and "TXD" on the right refer to the connected device, not the HP-33A, so it transmits on what looks as if it's labelled "RXD" and receives on what looks as if it's labelled "TXD".

Yes, "SD" and "RD" are a bit of a clue, but not a very good one.

Once I had it connected (including an unexpected hour of swearing with a soldering iron, redoing something on the boat which had been a fiddle to do under a lens at home), I then had to mess around with the transmitted sentences before I found one my radio would accept.
