Mate needed!

what about mixing some pepper in water and spraying the RIB with it ?

It might direct his attentions elsewhere.

He surfaced just off the slip at Pin Mill last Sunday just as my crew were landing - made them jump!

He then followed the rigid tender (32 of this parish) out to Alchemist and back again to the slip so clearly he has a liking for GRP as well as rubber.

He seems to have a fetish for my brothers mirror dinghy!

He's been around a few years ago when overnighting at Wrabness - scared the daylights out of my two grandchildren as it happened after dark as it clambered into my grp dinghy. Could not work out what the noise was and why the dinghy was half full of water. Baled out and it happened again during the night....

Caught him last weekend at it...
I Think the chap onboard thought I was trying to pinch his tender!

That's Nonsuch in the background so not far from where we had the visitation. We moved mooring a few weeks ago, when we had picked up the new mooring a mile and a half upriver I joked that the bl**dy seal won't find us here. Ten minutes later he surfaced 50m away! So back to the RIB in davits every night.
Was in the Butley river a couple of nights ago. The seals there have a different strategy. They take the flow up river very, very stealthily, head just below the surface, off to raid the oyster beds I guess.
