We live on our yacht in Borneo. The big problem here is the supply of just about anything marine, which must be imported from Singapore, US or Aust.
Had the yacht painted a few years ago in Awl-Grip. The Nijad stripe in Burgundy. Can't get Awl-Grip in Borneo so tried to mix some colours to fix up some scratches. Used signal red which is fairly bright, and on advice from a portrait artist, mixed some blue with it to darken it. FAILED - resultant colour brown. New batch of signal red then added black - again brown. Tried a number of other colours and ended up with brown!!! I was adding colour pigment for 2 pack paint.
For all the paint boffins, how do I create a burgundy red from bright red.
I can buy Awl-Grip from Singapore etc but only in a 5 litre can. Can't easily import paint from elsewhere as aircaft will not carry it.
