Mastervolt Charger Temp Sensor

I have a Mastervolt 24V Mass Combi charger/inverter, the inverter side works ok, but when I switch to Charge nothing happens. Could it be because the temperature sensor is missing ?

I doubt the problem is because the sensor is missing, generally the sensors are optional. However I had a similar issue with a Victron inverter/charger. For no apparent reason it would stop charging but I found, somewhat bizarrely, that shaking the temperature sensor wire caused it to restart and then it was fine for another six months or so.

As Robih says the temperature sensors are usually / often optional but the Mastervolt instructions do not suggest it is so in in this case.

Yes the sensor is normally supplied with the unit - not “optional”. When I switch to charge mode, no lights come on at all, when I go back to inverter there’s the clunk of a big relay
