MAST / TRANSPORT

Hi,

Can anyone help, I need to transport a 30' mast from Hampshire to Aberdeenshire, after many phone calls to haulage and removal companies I decided to go with the best quote, they turned up to collect it with a van that was to small, great so now I am a bit stuck. If anyone has any contacts or ideas I would be most pleased to hear from you.

Mast suppliers usually have specialised trailers for this, can you contact them and see if they have any trips to your part of the country and you could 'cadge' a lift?
Either that or a van and trailer with the heel of the mast in the trailer and say 2/3rds along the mast on a roofrack on th van with some sort of 'joint' to allow movement when turning.

There are a number of freight companies that do courier services between Aberdeen and the south coast. The last time I was in Abz I saw a truck with a load of engines that had on the side that he did daily runs Poole - Aberdeen - Poole.

No idea about the contact number. Maybe ask your logistics guy back at your office if he has any suggestions.
