Can anyone tell me who makes this light. I need to remove the lens and can't see how to remove it once I have removed the black plastic retaining ring.
I can't remember the make, but I had one of these on a previous boat. You just need to prise the sealed beam unit out of the white case, by opening the aperture a bit. It will be easier (at this time of year) if you warm the white casing gently with a hairdrier to soften it a little. It is one of those jobs where it is easier with 2 people, one to spread the housing and another to hook out the glass unit perhaps with the angled end of an old bicycle spoke. Your unit looks clean and fresh so hopefully you should be OK.
A couple of months back it was stated in the "wanted forum" that the sealed beam unit is a tractor floodlight and available from an agricultural vehicle parts supplier
After you remove the retaining ring you can "squirt" the lamp out of the housing by gently squeezing the PVC housing. There is no real connector on the back side of the lamp just the standard flat (AMP) car-connectors. So the connecting wire is long enough to remove the lamp from the housing before disconnecting the wires.
