Having just fitted a Command Mic' near the helm, I want to put a bracket for its plug and the mic' itself on the aft face of the mizzen mast (at a safe distance from the compass!). I had in mind something akin to the instrument repeater brackets that racing boats have under the gooseneck but my chandler tells me that they're generally bespoke. I could approach my local fabricator for one in aluminium or stainless; or I could try and form something from a strong plastic using a heat gun and vice if I could find suitable plastic. I need to provide a surface area of about 110mm x 60mm - what would you do? Thanks in anticipation of the usual nuggets of advice /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

PVC sheet & a heat gun - no problem. Googling for sheet should see 5mm at approx £20/sheet. However the size you need could easily be obtained from a short length of square drain pipe.
Don't forget to use Monel pop rivets and some yellow chromate paste on the rivets.

Job done! Thanks again Maxi, I found some large square(ish) section guttering in shiny black which did the job with only the minimum of modification by heat gun. very smart it looks too!
