I had a look at a Beneteau 461 today that has just arrived in the UK on a lorry from the med. The mast had been stored alongside the yacht with the masthead nearly reaching the Drivers door! The mast had a noticeable bend with no support in the middle, I would estimate the central drop to be in the region of 5-10cm. If I was buying this should I be concerned?

Nope - they bend one heck of a lot more when you shuv the sails up and start getting some drive into it...

I wouldn't store it that way though ...

Which way was it laying? Was the bend fore-aft or sideways? Cos if its been there for a long time it might get a set in it ...

That is minor compared to the mast bending experiments that Opal conduct at Sparks marina.
