Masking for epoxy primer

When applying successive coats of epoxy primer to grp is it necessary to replace the masking tape between coats (it would be the blue plastic masking tape) ? I had a notion that the cured epoxy overlapping the edge of the tape might weld the tape to the grp.

We changed the tape daily not leaving it overnight out of an abundance of caution and a strong dislike of having to scrape off masking tape!

When I did mine I used blue masking tape and I didn't remove it at all until I had finished the 5 coats (That only took two days)

From previous experience, I never leave masking tape on overnight, blue or not.
