My mase generator control panel is only showing a green light in the unused section and only a single dash in the hours meter section.

Any ideas? I'm stumped.

Need a bit more info
Have you had it going ?
Is the main breaker on and shore power ( if applicable ) off ?
What else have you pressed in this episode ?

It may be you did not hold down the start button long enough for the V to rise and it's gone into default mode ?
Abviously I can only guess -sorry ,if so hold down the stop for 5 secs to reset .

Here's a manual note the warnings but you did not say which modal ,so a guess again -sorry

Assuming its all connected up and you have checked all conections for a pull and there's a decent Bat supply .
Btw -- how is it supplied --dedicated 40-60 ah or is it tee,d into either engine or Dom bank ?
Could be not just low bat ,but Zilch V ,again you have not said ,eg spent a night @ anchor all lights blazing to wake up in the morning to this ??

Need a bit more info on the events leading up to this if it's not a re-set

Sorry for the brief first post. At anchor off Paloma

Right here we go:

Mase 5.0.

Haven't used the gen since the sea trail. It was fine there.

I think that it's all pointing to a dead battery. Back on shorepower and with a trickle going in from the smart charger all the indications on the control panel are now normal until I hit start and then it flicks 'batt' and then a random code that isn't in the manual.

Now that I know where the battery isolator is for the gen I will leave it on charge overnight and see how that goes.

Good Ho .
Yup as suspected too low for even BAT , ie zilch V

You now need to understand how --- the ( new to you ) boat is organised -- which bat is suposed to be charged to power the geny up ?
How to keep that bat in tip top nick fully charged ready to go ?

How,s it got flat ?

They are all different set ups .loads of cat skinning .

Mines organised like this

I have a 60 ah simple car bat dedicated for the Geny start only .
It's got it's own charger -a small bosche € 80 jobbie from a French auto shop .The original one packed up .
This new one is an all singing n dancing -thingy -bulk -float -trickle -conditioner etc .
The Geny bat is infrequently called up on and the for 5-10 seconds .

We also have a dedicated x-over switch for the geny so if this bat dies I can temporarily rob some juice from the other two banks .

Not sure which TBO , or how that exactley works cos the other two are 24 V set ups and Geny 12 v ?
Main thing is I can start the Geny with its own Bat disconnected if needs be .I have tested this .

The other two banks are 2x180 ah - each with port dedicated engine start for both engines
Stb bank is dom / house with a x-over switch on the dash , so I could in theroey rob them -never had to .
There is the main Dolphin charger ,agian latest spec as above -fitted 2 seasons ago that from memory is overspecced 80 ah ,
Replaced an original 2003 standard 40 ah --which did not pack up ,just decayed ended up down to 5 ah before skipping it !

I had the whole boat gone through by a boat sparky -Sunseeker use and some ammendments made .

What you need to try to prevent is this ----
After a deep Dom discharge @ anchor and starter bat probs occurring ( in a sods law way -together ) should that ever happen in some god forsaken place then the last chance saloon is the Geny --then get that to run the main charger 80 ah into 160 ah ---- well thats theory .

Basically your Geny bat needs to be the last of the sets to die .

Right. I am a complete idiot. A build up of corrosion around the starting battery killed the whole thing.

All corrosion now removed. Gen fires up like a legend !

Top tip to self - always start with the basics!
