In one of their guide booklets (§1.6), the Finnish 'Keep the Archipelago Clean' society states that MARPOL Annex V requires all yachts over 12 metres to display a placard notifying passengers and crew of the annex's garbage disposal requirements. Here's an example placard . Here's a page from IMO which seems to confirm this requirement, if we take that yachts count as 'ships'. This chart seems to contain the same text as the placards; for us in Finland it's useful to note that the Baltic is one of the 'special areas' referred to. Do those of you with yachts 40' and over display such a placard?
