I keep my boat in Yacht Marine, and knew Demokan. I was in Turkey until yesterday.
Like many others I have sent condolences and the office staff in the marina are busy putting all the e-mails into a book of condolences, together with translations into Turkish.
Details of the shootings are not clear but it appears that four men were involved in a shoot out at a hotel between Gocek and Fethiye, and that Demokan was the only fatality though others including his friend were wounded. The others involved are all in hospital under guard, or under arrest in custody.
