I've just been listening to Mark on Jeremy Paxman's Lock In podcast:

Jeremy has a pint with Mark Criddle, coxswain of the RNLI Torbay lifeboat, who has saved hundreds of lives over many decades putting to sea with the RNLI. They discuss volunteering and bravery on the high seas.
.

Some good insights in to life as an RNLI crew member and then coxswain. They also talk about the Ice Prince rescue.

PS I know Paxman isn't everyone's cup of tea, I'm not sure he's mine, but he does get some good guests and and unlike with politicians he is courteous and asks some good questions and then, more importantly, listens to the answers.

Thanks Simon, a very thoughtful interview well worth playing. And not only because in my teens I lived within earshot of the Brixham maroons...
