I am sure you know but www.marinestore.co.uk are doing 15% off everything until 20th Jan 2008 & in the shops at Maldon,West Mersea,Tichmarsh & Burnham.
Use the code xmas7 on the website at checkout.
I have no connection,just a satisfied customer.
Happy new year to all East Coasters & drop in at Woodbridge Cruising Club if you come up to the Deben and/or Tidemill.

They did the same thing last year - nice little saving on the TackTick windex (and it was already keenly priced to start with).

Don't need anything this year.

Bloody hell - just checked the price on the TackTick wind system.
Last year it was priced at £560 and I got 10% off (paid £504) - this year it's £660 with 15% off (pay £561). How's that for inflation? /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Or the clever scrotes have disguised paying full whack as a discount - very clever /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Great Minds.I bought the Tacktick wind last year as well from Marinestore & paid £564 but with 15% off paid £480.As you say it shot up in price afterwards.Once you have bought from Marinestore you get a personal discount which is 16% this year whilst the boat show is on.

You seem to be pointing a finger at Marinestore but I think it's not them. Tacktick have a monopoly and until someone comes up with similar stuff, they can almost charge what they like. All the racer boys down darn sarf love 'em so Tacktick can sell all that they make.

It would have been nice to have been able to give Marinestore the benefit of the doubt. Then, the cynic in me checked Seamark Nunn - they still have it at £549. The exact same price as last year.

Last year, when I was looking to buy Fox's also want £660 for it. I enquired if they would match Seamark Nunn. Bod behind the counter had to check with "the manager'. Couple of minutes later manager type comes along. No, they wouldn't match as - insert drum roll here - otherwise they would only make £25 on it. He'd wait for another quote mug unquote to come along.

As is - I think Marinestore (and others) are just extracting the waste liquid.

Just goes to show - it pays to shop around, and a discount is not always a discount.

Will , as another lot have been mentioned I don't think I'm going to upset anyone by mentioning that some of the sellers on Sailroom seem to have contacts in the Plastimo direction . Might be worth sending a message

Post made in good faith so if anyone wants to shoot , I have the gun /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

In that case, I think you're right!
I just don't understand why businesses like chandlers do this these days. Surely the vast majority of customers have a look around and compare prices first, don't they?

Thanks for that ...just saved m'self £11.00 on a new Aquasignal tricolour and anchor light thanks to yr Xmas7 code..

And it was a good price to start with.
