Hoping someone can help! Boat out in Mallorca and everything perfect other than engine (Mariner 50hp 2 stroke outboard) seems to be suffering from fuel starvation - boat full of fuel. Starts up ok but after about 10mins cuts out re-choke then primer bulb again and turn the key and starts up again. Is there a fuel pump on this engine or is it gravity fed? - any help appreciated if I am to enjoy the sun!!!

First of all, yes there is a fuel pump but check that the vent on the petrol tank is not blocked. You can check if the fuel pump is sucking by placing an inexpensive vacume (spelling) guage on the fuel pipe from the engine to the tank. I would suspect that the diaphram on the fuel pump has split, ie, the engine runs when you pump the bulb. Simple to repair and not to expensive!
