Morning all.
I need a bit of advice about retro fitting a kill cord system to my mariner outboard. Its a 3.3 and about twelve years old. The kids want to use it on the tender on the Thames but i'm reluctant to let them use it without a kill cord.
The engine is like new and only done about 10 hours so would prefer not to replace it. Last time I spoke to a dealer they said no kit was manufactured for retro-fitting.
Does anyone have any ideas before I set about making my own?
Thanks
Phill.

I had one retro-fitted by Marine & General (in St Samson, Guernsey). I don't know exactly how they did it, but it was a proper job.
Give them a call. If no joy, the previous Mariner dealer here is an old friend and would no doubt talk.

Done it myself last year on our old mercury 5HP tender engine,
very easy to fit, 15 min work, connections in line with the stop knob drill hole and hey presto

Take a good look where you put the button tho.

You can buy the kits from outboard sellers (mine came from ST Vaast while there last summer) costs about £10 i think. the sellers all want to sell engines only i think...
