I'm having a bit of trouble, as Frank Spencer would say, in locating a supplier of marine ply in Kent.....Havent done much research into it, but thought I'd take the easy way out and ask somebody! Small amount required, no more than 4ft square...Suggestions gratefully received..

I've used Jewsons in the past, or had a leaflet from either Maidstone Building supplies or Aylesford a while ago and they did Marine Ply.
Have a look on Yell.co.uk or Scoot.co.uk.

Have brought off cuts in the past from L H Jones in Huntingdon, they may post a 48inch square to you.

Hutchings Timber of Deal ...

... usually have it in stock. (Not the fancy finish stuff though, i.e. Sapele faced). Also various types of mahogany for cappings if necessary. 79 Albert Road, close to the railway station, tel 01304 374906.

Thanks for all the helpful suggestions. Went along to Travis Perkins in Aylesford today and got what I wanted. I cant thank the company enough for their completely unhelpful attitude. On finding that the huge lump of wood wouldnt fit into my small car, the very helpful bonehead quickly became very unhelpful when he refused to cut it for me ("There's only two of us in today"). Asked how long I had to wait before he could cut it, said bonehead then looked even more confused. perhaps it was the thought of work? Security Nazi on the gate stands and watches as i struggle to get it into my car (uncut). Then has the balls to say "Is that the only piece of wood you've bought sir"? Seem to remember saying last time that I would never use TP again...........Robbins timber it is next time, even if it is mail order..
