Why not do it yourself you may learn a thing or two and if anything goes wrong when you are sailing (without a plumber on board) you will be able to fix it yourself ! it realy isnt rocket science
Can people only leave a reply if they have a answer to my question. Its quite simple and I get bored with the usual pointless answers left by some of the sailing community. Thank you.
Such an attitude is going to get you a whole load of useful replies! I dont think.
I have one suggestion to make but I dont know if it is in a relevant part of the "Essex area"
So since you wont even answer a simple question like which part of Essex. Forget it
Sorry Vic,
Best I could do at short notice. I've got a good one about a tobaconist though! I'll save it until someone asks for contact details of marine tobaconists!
What is a Marine Plumber? To try to answer the question I Googled it. This thread came up as number three, so it's evidently not a common query. In the first three pages I learnt that there are none listed in UK, a few in USA. I learned that in USA, after training a marine plumber can command a salary of up to $29,000. No wonder there are not many around.
I dont know any marine plumbers - but loads of marine pipe fitters - they will do all the pipe fitting - but they wont unblock your heads outlet - all depends what you what them to do?? - ddddduuuuuuu another question
Kevin,
As you will have gathered, if you have not taken the above too personaly and gone off in a huff, any decent plumber who is willing to work on board will do. I would look for a "plumber" first rather than "heating engineer" but that I suppose would depend on the particular problem you wish to resolve.
The reason for some of the comments is that there is a whole world of experience available on these forums and most folks love to be given the chance to help. I was also going to add that it's free..but having read the jokes, cheap would be a better word.
Did you hear that someone broke into our local police station and stole the toilet?
Right now the cops have nothing to go on....."
I have now found a plumber, through a boat yard with a reasonable quote.
You really are a sad lot. You are all like characters in a matthew boyd novel. I have been sailing for only 3 years but I am getting increasingly concerned that you all appear to fall between marginal personality dysfunction and being potential serial killers. I guess the writer of Dead Calm had the same experience but none of you are probably as good looking as Billy Zane. Suggest you all get a bit of a life and spend less time on the web. Love to check your cookies, you weirdos.

Mmm, not sure why someone is all huffy when he wouldn't even introduce himself or let us know what he was doing on the boat... sounds like someone needs a lollypop.
