marine electronics fixer person needed

Been there, came back to mantsbrite & pay the extra, they do know what they're doing & probably save in the long term by not having to investigate as much. Back in hospital last night just as the boat is going back in. Think the phrase is bugger ! Still alive though.:)

can you give a fuller description of the symptoms

eg. what does the interference sound like?
does it only happen when the radar is on?

and so on

might be able to offer a few ideas with more info

How close to each other?

I have an Icom VHF and a Raymarine plotter.. However I don't get any interference, radar on or not...
How close are they to each other? If they are right next to each other.... Try a simple test of moving them apart to a separation of about a foot or more..

sorry to hear about your hospitalisation, hope all goes well.

i have spoken to Tim from mansprite and he is looking into the problem.

all fitted from new and only just started making interfernace, its when the chart plotters are on the radar is fine and no interferance from either screen.

i will report mansprites findings soon i hope

I am not sure if you are saying the problem occurs when you are using the radar or when the chart plotters are functioning as a chart plotter. In any case..

a) check your earth connections if you are getting DC noise when the radar is active ( i.e turning ).
b) Buy yourself some ferrite rings (http://uk.rs-online.com/web/c/?sra=oss&searchTerm=ferrite+ring&x=0&y=0) and add them to the cables of as many devices as you can.
