I am thinking of re-decking my boat with Marine Deck 2000. Has anyone had any good/bad experiences with this material? The product is reconstituted cork in a rubber binder. I have heard some people say that it looks like poo. I have seen one boat with it and thounght that it looked ok.

We had it some years ago and thought it was good value for money. Boat was also warmer and less condensation. Would imagine that it would be great for steel and aluminium boats. You used to be able to have Moodys supply panels for you to stick down yourself or have them do the whole job. Don't know if that's still true.I recall the main cost escalator was the number of deck fittings that needed to be removed and refitted. It was surprising how much each fitting added. We ended up designing the panels to go around as many fittings as possible so that brought the cost down considerably. I thought it looked good, and a fraction of the cost of teak with a fraction of the fitting and maintainance hassles..
