I spent 20 minutes looking out of the office window at the ships on the Maas and trying to compare reality to what was shown on the screen.

Seemed OK for moored ships, but moving vessels were long gone before they appeared on screen.

A mate recently sent me the following pics of ships moored at Singapore.

And also an AIS screen shot of Singapore.

Makes the Harwich AIS look positively sparse! And as for collision avoidance where do you start!?
