I am looking for a marine charger, and came across this product. I rather like the idea of seperate chargers for "domestic" and "engine" batteries rather than subjecting the engine battery to the domestic's charging regime, which is my understanding of what happens with many multiple output battery chargers.

Anyone got experience of this http://www.ctek.com/EN-GB/Buy-Charger.aspx?charger=m300 charger?

Thanks

Hi, I have used CTEK's other 25A charger, the XS 25000, for the last four years and I have found it quite reliable. It charges my 225 Ah domestic bank reasonably fast.
The M300 was not available when I bought it, today I would surely choose this one instead as it has the "night mode" (reduced capacity and fan off). The fan is not very noisy, but a little annoying on a quiet night. Apart from this the features of the two models are fairly similar.
One very good thing about these chargers is that they are IP44, which means they can take a splash. Can be installed e.g. in a cockpit locker.
Couldn't comment much on the usefulness of the separate starter battery charger. When I bought the CTEK I wired my old 10A charger to the starter battery – but I find I hardly ever use it.
