Marinaskip hacked

I received an email notification from marinaskip this morning advertising a fatburn cryogenic product. As this has nothing to do with boats, I assume the site has been hijacked and await a flood of similar stuff. What can be done?

The Admin Walla needs to delete the person who originated the advert.

Indeed, it won't be "the site" that has been cracked (is there even a site?) but one of the members of the list with a virus that sends emails from their computer to all their correspondents.

Thanks for the heads up. The posts have been deleted & the hacked members advised to change their Yahoo passwords. It seems that Yahoo is having a lot of problems with member ID's being hacked.

If it does become endemic, messages will have to be approved before posting, but I prefer to allow a free hand if I can.

I've had the same problem - to a lesser extent - on the yahoogroups Westerly site.

There is not a lot you, as admin, can do, as it is a members list that has been hacked. I even have the "spam" setting activated, and still some get through.

If it does not look kosher, don't open it.
