Do any forumites have any views, reports on marinas (availability, costs etc) for a longer term berth in an area from say Port Vendres to Narbonne? Thoughts much appreciated. Ideally I'd like an annual rent but these seem to be like hen's teeth!

We wintered ashore at Port Leucate 2005/6. At that time there appeared to be a few pontoon berths free and there always seem to be alongside berths against the main pontoons. This is a good marina, shore staff are very competent, I recommend Navale du Golfe in particular. Costs were very reasonable, 10 Euros per metre per month plus lift-out. About 30 minutes from the airport by taxi.

We also visited St Cyrus, it was very crowded and even a visitor berth was almost unobtainable, in September.

The Mistral blows very strongly through here from the west/north west. Try to avoid lying upwind of a pontoon if beam on to this direction.

Having sailed down from the UK five years ago and spending time sailing around Sardinia, Sicily, Corsica etc., I now live in the Languedoc.
I had to leave Altair in Port Napolean "des Mosquitoes" for almost two years, whilst I visited and got on the waiting list of every marina between Roses (Spain) and Cap d'Agde. I was told everywhere of 5/6 year waiting lists, but, in less than 12 month of searching, I got lucky in getting a permanent berth at Port Barcares near Perpignan. O.K. marina, good facilities, a bit open to the Tramontana but easy sailing to Gulf of Roses, Balearics, Corsica etc.

There are certainly winter berths available here, and, if you are in the right place at the right time, or have your ear to the grapevine, you could get a permanent berth. Annual charges for a 10m boat are about €1600. It is within easy reach of Perpignan and Girona airports and is not too commercialised.

PM me if you would like furter info.

Hi, I am hoping to tkae my 13.5m etre trawler yacht from Menorca to somewhere in easy reach of our French home. This would mean between Argeles sur Mer and Sete. Does anyone have any information concerning current mooring charges and availability.
The boat is for sale in Menorca on an idyllic mooring but I think she will sell better in France ?

This time of year, Cap D'Agde would be a good bet.

You will find that in general the french ports publish their tariff on their Web sites.
2600 euros next year for annual 10m at Gruissan.
