Marinas near to Rome

My clever wife has gotten a job in Rome, Italy. Initially we intend to take our Gib Sea 372 from Croatia to Rome and liveaboard until we can sell our children into slavery and afford an apartment. However, I don't have an Italian waters pilot to hand; can anyone give me any info on marinas where we can over-winter? I've tried t'internet but I cannot get any hard and fast information. Must be using the wrong search criteria! Doh!
 
We arrived in Porto Turistico Di Roma this afternoon. Huge marina complex with 800 berths, very secure with all facilites. Perhaps a little lacking in character, but as large marina complexes go, it takes some beating! Not sure what it would be like in the winter. Just don't expect too much from the sea around Rome, croatian islands are way better.
 
We wintered (part-timers not true liverboarders) in Porto di Roma, Ostia two (or was it three) winters ago. Loads of friendly (real) liverboards and something going on most nights of the week. Bit of a swell in the marina at times and the sea does splash over the wall so tuck in well on molls A,B,C or D. Quite a distance from Rome but then only a euro per trip. OK facilities especially if you need an Italian fashion handbag. Very close to the airport (Fuimicino) but the taxi drivers will take you the long way.
More serious boaty service stuff at Fuimicino but dull for a winter stopover

I would be interested in any info you could give me about Porto Touristico di Roma. I found the website and it looks good but I cannot get a handle on its location. My wife will have to commute to the NW edge of the city. I am stuck in the UAE until June, so any info would be VERY much appreciated.
 
Porto Turistico di Roma is immediately south of the entrance to the river Tiber. The entrance to Fiumincino is about 2 miles to the north. Apparantly it is about 30 mins into the centre - we will try it out tomorrow! The immediate area is not great, but Lido di Ostia is nearby and that seems very pleasant. Most things are available in the port itself, but there is a large supermarket about 15 mins walk away. It is an extremely large 'Boat Park'. At the moment it seems like we are the only people here but presumably that will change at the weekend! Everyone is very friendly and helpful as usual in Italy. If we were looking for a long-term berth in this area, we would be delighted with this marina. Punta Alla is also worth considering. Some way away, but drivable and with a lot more options for cruising.

She is going to be working in a school on the Via di Villa Lauchli which is near Tombe di Nerone. The route by road, which I have followed using Google Earth, is along the ring road and then along the Cassis(?) which passes near to the school. I'll take her in by motorcycle initially but if the metro is a possibility then that would be better for me than 2 50 mile round trips per day. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
