Unfortunately I have left my almanacs on the boat and trawling the internet I have ended up confused. Are there a number of marinas at (or near) Palma or just one, marina port de majorca.
What's the most suitable for security, access to the town, cost, appropriateness for a 37ft motorboat.

In Palma there are three marinas : Club de Mar, Marina Port de Mallorca (or something like that!), Real Club Nautico.
Real Club, is the nearest to down town Palma, the oldest one and probably the one most likely to have some free moorings. It's very secure as well, with 24/7 guards at the entrance, and patrolling the pontoons.
Marina Port de Mallorca is the newest, and probably the most expansive, and I'm not sure 37 foot is big enough for them.
Club de Mar is on the west end of the harbour and usually full. It is as well the one further of down town Palma (Bus), and probably more expansive than Real Club.

Next to the a.m., there are a few marinas within 10 - 15 km (by road) : Portixol, Cala Gamba, Can Pastilla, Cala Mayor, Arenal, as well as the exclusive Portals Nous.

Hope this helps.
Feel free to PM me for more infos.

Sorry chaps - there are at least six I know of and possibly more.

Going west to east the ones I've visted are:
1. Club de Mar - a real yacht club and biggest of the lot. Full at present and any visitor space will be subject to members moving on etc. A long way from old town.
2. A.N. Other - can't recall name but the smallest facility of them all - single jetty.
3. Port de Mallorca - getting closer to old town - medium sized council run marina and most modern facility in town. (Not to be confused with the non secure public berths actually backing onto Paseo Maritima). Currently may have space for visitors.
4. Marina Barribas(?? sorry - or similar sounding name) - small marina used a lot by charter fleets just the east side of where the tourist boats moor. They also currently have space for visitors.
5. Real Club Nautico - almost as big a facility as Club de Mar - again member club - but lots of visitor berths. Nice in it has washing machines to hand and closest to reasonably sized chadlers and boat yard.
6. Pier 46 - medium sized facility closest to old town - again used lots by charter fleets but do have visitor berths.

All have gates and guards except the berths backing onto the road, and contrary to views already expressed - all will take 37 footers provided they have space.

If you are not aware - August is not the best month to lob up and expect a space anywhere in Palma - but they can be found.

Hoping this helps. I'm there now so if can assist any further pm me also.

Hi,
I left my boat in Port Adriano for the winter when bringing her back from Turkey a couple of years ago.
39* 29' 6" N
2* 28' 3" E

I was full of German boats, so I knew it would be expensive, but safe. It turned out to be not too dear. If you are living aboard, it might be a bit quiet though.
