Marinas in Copehagen

I was working in Copenhagen in July - great place I can recommend it.
Unfortunately I didn't get the chance to sail (other than on the water taxis) so I've not yet, 'sampled' the marinas. But I will one day!
However, I did manage to have a look round several and they were all well equipped.
I visited 2 (but there are more) in central Copenhagen : Christianshavns and Langelinie. Both walkable to the city centre but waterbus/taxi is easier and cheap. The taxibloke (driver?) told me Langelinie is designated a visitors harbour. In Greater Copenhagen and further out (up to about 1 hour away by train) there are lots of places, some of them in very picturesqe spots. I had a look at Elsinore (by Hamlet's castle) and Kignæs Harbour, Margreteholms, Svanemoellen and Århus are all worth a visit. Elsinore to copenhagen is 45 minutes by train; Kignæs (in "Roskilde Fjord" up in north Zealand) is 60 mins from Copenhagen. Trains/buses are very frequent and on time - to the second!!! So why aren't ours?

Most people I met went sailing and were only too keen to talk about it - probably has something to do with Copenhagen being built on a number of islands.

Weatherwise July was hot but we had 2-3 shortish (5-20mins each) showers every day. And when I say showers... I've never got so wet so quickly short of jumping overboard.

Copenhagen tourist office were of great help when I called in and asked about sailing etc. l don't know about online enquiries other than accommodation. Their website (ww.woco.dk/) might be worth a try though.

I hope this is of help. Sorry I can't be more specific.
Good luck
Alan

Trouble with Copenhagen is hearing Danny Kaye continually singing "Wonderful, wonderful, Copenhagen" where-ever you go. That and all those 17 year old Swedish Blue Eyed Blondes continually accosting you with such words as " Pliss, I vood like to fisit your bunken bed viss you"
