I know this question is the 'how long is a piece of string' type but which country in the Med generally has the cheapest rates?
And which gives best value for money

I belived most marinas charge per sq metre so for comparative purposes it might be good if respondants used this measure of the cost in euros per day for an annual contract.
We got .60 per day in the Balearics last year for what I would term 2 star value - ie secure and protected, but few facilities.
We get .16 per day on Med coast Turkey now, for what IMHO is 5 star value.
And I know our marina is not the cheapest around here.
Looking forward to other contributions....

We got

With a multihull this square metre calculatrion used in Spain is painful.
However I spent around 3500 Euros last year over 11mths in Monfalcone.
Since my tri is 84square metres this works out at 0.12€ per day/sqmtr,
and includes two lifts, since the tri is stored ashore most of the time.
However the space under my netting is "sublet"!!

I pay 9000 euros a year, including water and leccy, for 17.5 x 4.5 meters, in Barcelona. which I guess is €0.31/sqm/per day. Four star facilities (when they finish the new pontoon!) but five star location.

Leave your boat in Holland and take the Ramsgate ferry (about £30 per trip with 4 in a car) where fees are around £600 a year for a fourty footer!

Turkey has reasonable rates and is a nice place. Greece in some places is OK - but is less user friendly and really only interested in tourism. Some parts of mainland Spain are not too bad but the Balearic islands are a fortune. Italy is very expensive and so is most of France. I would be tempted to try the Adriatic ports of the former Yugoslavia.

What you will find is that the most attractive places with easy air access are expensive and full - not just Brits but Germans, Dutch, Swiss, French etc etc. Less accessible and scruffy are cheaper. The Med generally is no longer a cheap place but frequently half the price of the UK
