Hi - I am moving the boat from Grenada via St Lucia to Antigua over the first 3 months of next year and looking for recommendations for 1-2 month/s marina berthing - things like cost and security being high on my agenda

If anyone have anything good or bad to say about Jolly Harbour marina, Antigua Yacht Club marina, Falmouth Harbour marina or Nelson Dock Yard marina I should be pleased to hear from you ?

Thanks

Jolly Harbour would be the most secure. Antigua yacht club would be the least secure. Not sure of current pricing but Nelson Dockyard is the nicest and most interesting but med type mooring stern to with anchor out.

I don't think there is much difference on security between Jolly Falmouth and Elizabeth Harbors. Maybe Elizabeth is fractionally more secure but there is no active night patrol at the moment AFAIK.

Jolly harbor has a big supermarket and chandlery.

Elizabeth Harbor is the poshest but you have to put up with charter boats trying to shoe horn themselves into any space. There have been attempts made to control anchoring so find out the current situation when you check in.

I like Falmouth, there is plenty of space the holding is good and it is only a short walk over to the fleshpots of English Harbor.

I will be in and out of Falmouth from late January to Classics week.

Sea Pony has moorings to rent in Falmouth. They are trustworthy and do get inspected.

Jolly Harbour marina has a large security presence 24/7. It is the only marina in Antigua with good security. Our boat spent a summer in the yard and my boat building pal worked the whole summer on our decks. He came to the conclusion that it was the safest place in Antigua!
