Marina french canals

Hi, does anyone have any thoughts about marinas on the French canals? I am thinking of buying a river cruiser for the canals system (just sold my yacht in Greece) Wondered what the marinas / boat yards are like in France, costs, facilities etc. I'm thinking of buying in Holland unless anyone - with knowledge, has better ideas!! We're looking for a cruiser about 32ft - 36ft that will fit under the bridges of France, Germany Holland etc. Any useful input gratefully received. Many thanks.
