Hi
Our marina has increased its fees for 2015/16 by 8.5% over 2014/15. I would be interested to hearing what increases other berthholders across the country are experiencing? Our marina is MDL in Plymouth.:disgust:

Thanks

Not relevant to your country but to mine. As from January next year our fees have gone up by 33% !!! :(

Annual fee for my boat (32 feet) will now be €2316 including VAT but excluding water & electricity; these are paid through a top-up from the security key fob when the service module on the pontoon is activated. Captive market -> demand bigger than supply -> cartel situation.

Try Mayflower.
They have not increased fees this year.
Best showers and wash facilities on the South Coast.
Been there the last 7 years but not next year where we have decided to go on a cheaper swinging mooring for a change and a little adventure

The new marina at king point were offering first timers reductions.
But they did not offer me any reduction when I enquired.

Just had notice of next years fees and it has DROPPED by 1.5% plus a further 2% reduction if paid by 25th Jan.- very happy bunny

Ouch!

Several nice moorings on the Exe for sale at the moment. :)

I can't be sure what the increase is this year for my fees, since the last time I renewed in December 2012 I did so for 2 years, but next year's price is a 6.09% increase from the (one year) price back then. That looks suspiciously like two years at 3.0% (1.03 x 1.03 = 1.0609).

MDL marina on the Hamble.

Is there a long queue to berth in QAB? If so I guess its supply and demand, but imho there are better marinas in Plymouth, Sutton Harbour being one, Mayflower possibly another. So answering my own question, I'd doubt that there was more demand for QAB than the others. So I wonder how many will vote with their hulls.

Maybe, but on the basis of 24 years' marina tenancy in Plymouth there does seem to have been very little real variation in rates between Sutton, Mayflower, PYH and QAB over that time. Of course, there couldn't possibly be a cartel operating, so I assume that they are all pricing as tightly as possible and that the others (including King Point which after all is a satellite of Sutton) will be following QAB's increase.......
