The recent topic ‘Amazing Marina Costs’ shows that the time may have come whereby there may be possibilities for a website that gives up to date marina day visitor prices.

The site could also show the local alternatives – the nearby yacht club moorings and the free anchorages or drying out beaches.

The site would require the input of us all to provide info from our own areas.

It may be that we have to fund this site in order to attract a webmaster to give time to keep the site up to date.

Any thoughts?

A bit like:

http://www.boatlaunch.co.uk/

Started out as slips - but now seems to have included other facilities - e.g marinas etc.

I think they make their money by publising a printed guide - but now appear to be using google maps as the engine for the website. It even appears that anyone can edit the info !

All easy enough to do, and a nice idea - all depends if enough people can be pursuaded to keep the data upto date.

be a great idea as a forum section - personally would rather see that then pubs restaurants etc = how about it Kim?

Got to say that I have been ripped off far more often in restaurants than in marinas. Marinas might be expensive but you usually get what you pay for - most british pub food is expensive and you dont get what you pay for.

Just noticed a lot of hits from YBW. Please do help us keep the marina information up to date. We are getting a lot of updates and the ability to update the information is proving to be very popular. You can add Restaurants as "Other category" now and we will add a special layer for eating places very shortly.

Very useful site, lets hope it kicks off and is well populated, although I'm sure it will result in a yo-yo of updates for some places..

"Very friendly staff"
"Staff were very rude"

etc....
