Marina charges

My local Council marina has been subjected to about 40% increases over the last two years. The Council say that they have to give "best value" and need to make comparisons with comparable facilities.

They have chosen to use Dean & Reddyhoff's Weymouth Marina, which is a fully-staffed full-facility commercially operated marina. We feel this isn't right.

Does anyone know of a Council-run facility with only basic pontoon facilities. We have no on-site staff, no toilets, no washing facilities, no car-parking - I could go on!

I really need to find something similar to our pontoons and compare prices. It obviously won't be identical. Otherwise we are facing another 17% this year.

All help appreciated.

Ramsgate used to be municipal - run, and may still be, but it probably has better facilities than those you are describing.
