Marconi sailing club - Blackwater

There is a visitors buoy on the outermost row just opposite the club house, otherwise I have just picked up a vacant buoy and been prepared to move if the owner returns.

Bear in mind that rows D inwards dry at low water.

From http://www.marconi-sc.org.uk/sailing/fleets/cruisers/Moorings/

The mooring buoy positioned at A0 is for the exclusive use of visitors to the club. This is to make visitors feel welcome and reduce the risk of members’ moorings being occupied on their return.

Members should direct visitors here in the first instance or if already occupied by a visitor to the nearest suitable mooring which will not be required by the owner for the duration of the visitors stay. No charge is made for use of the visitors mooring provided the hospitality is not abused.

And a jolly friendly bunch they are to. Stayed overnight there two years ago, even opened the bar just for us two and let us use the showers, wouldn't take a penny either. But we did pay for the beer :-)

Shameless plug... the East Coast Piers race is on July 2nd - if you visit Marconi that weekend you'll be able to get Adnams on tap (courtesy of the brewers themselves) and you'll be raising money for charity by buying it. Mind you - beware of a large fleet of very fast cats racing on both saturday and sunday!
