Formerly a Junta Andalucia marina, from the first of Jan this is now privately run.

Prices still good and cheap, smidge over 12 euros a night for an all in 12m berth.

Possibly the start of the new, huge marina development?

Has this privatisation happened to all the Junta marinas?
I heard in January about the 'proposed' enlargement of Bajadilla (which we knew well), but then I also know about 'plans' to develop a marina at La Cala and to enlarge Fuengirola too . . .

Hiya. Not sure is my answer! I normally do get round most of the Junta marinas over the season so I will find out what I can.

Did hear from someone with a boat in Rota that he thought fees were going up a lot. Bit of confusion, though, it may just be that discounting for long stays may be over.

Always up for an excuse to nip round to Cadiz!

We picked up in Ayamonte mid December that the annual discount of 25-30% had been removed, I think a 6 monthly discount option had also gone. No rumours about a sell off though, Cadiz and Barbate still appeared to be EPPA controlled in early Jan. The only price change we were aware of for the casual visitor was that electricity and water were no longer optional, but that may just have been the way Cadiz and Barbate played it.

We visited Bajadilla last January (2011) and they knew of the sell off then and would not take long term bookings. We put our name on a waiting list but have no real hope of it turning into anything. Everyone was also fearful for their jobs!

My bet is that a more expensive marina price list will emerge anytime soon irrespective of long term plans.:(

Nice little marina though and a great location BUT beware if you get put on the outer pontoon near the entrance - it can get seriously bouncy.

Just an update on Fuengirola. With regard to enlargement, this has been proposed for some years. The present situation, is that although outline plans have been passed, detailed plans and letting out to contract seem(in the current economic situation) to be a long way off.
Concerning prices. From January 2012 there was an increase of 3%. The winter rates up to 30th April e.g. are 10mtr. 10.73e/day.-12mtr.- 14.72e/day Summer: 10mtr.-16.95e - 12mtr.-23.24e. all incl.iva and electric & water.
Long term.(when available) for 12months is still discounted by 15 % but G5 tax which is roughly 5% is added.
Hope this is of assistance.
