Maraut Leasing

Has anyone ever used Maraut cross boarder leasing to save VAT on a new boat, they have been recomended to me, as I am looking to upgrade. Their web site is www.Maraut.com

Steve, I looked at it in detail recently as we just upgraded. A bit clanky imho (I do related stuff for a living, so slightly qwalified to comment). They want a big chunk of the VAT saving as their fee, and you have to move the boat around via Holland etc. You also get imperfect ownership/title, and would not be able to raise normal mortgage if that is relevant. There are possibly better schemes, but it depends where in EU you want to keep the boat and roughly what type of boat it is

JFM, thanks for the reply, I am intending to keep her in the UK for at least 12 months, and maybe move her to the med, I am looking at a F43 however at the LIBS I really did like the Fairline P43 and may seriously look at that. I do resent paying all that VAT for what amounts to bugger all in return.....
