"Modified sine wave" Ooooh, cheap and nasty - get a pure sine wave for sensitive electronice like flat screen tvs etc - modified ok for lamps etc.

Better still, get a 12V TV.
Most modern electronics will cope fine with modified sine, provided there are not too many spikes or surges.
Old type TV is likely to be more sensitive.
Look for products that are 'universal input' , often spec'd 90 to 240V AC in.

I bought one of these inverters 5 years ago and has been very reliable; it will run everything within the range, even a new flat screen TV; they are for sale at an offer for £49.99 at maplins.

Got the same one from Maplin about 4 years ago.

Like Vyv's, does all I ask from it, including 12v TV, that I run from the inverter to give it a more stable supply. Just used it for the Dremmel.
