Is this the one lying at Gosport Boat Yard? I am the owner of an Oakleaf built at Great Wakering although have very little technical information about her. What I do have is a photocopy of an article from PBO dated December 1968 about the Mapleleaf which says it was designed 'nearly ten years ago'. I will e mail it to you if you would like it.

Chandler and Smith were at Millhead Yard, Potton Creek, Great Wakering and if you do find anything about them then please let me know.

Rather nice boats - quite a few of them about in the Thames estuary. They were being built until "quite recently" - although that rather elastic term might turn out to be thirty years ago.

Hi Ian,
I know one of these is currently being restored in East Anglia, by an experienced boat builder and i'm certain he'd be more than happy to "chew the cudd" with you, about it.
