Hi Gurus,
I do a lot of sailing but usually outside UK.
Whenever I plan to enter UK waters I buy a new chart of the area I plan to sail into. My fear is not that the rocks have moved but that there are new windfarms being constructed and every time I do this, I seem to run into unlit, uncharted construction sites in the North Sea.
I am sure that there is up to date information available but where can I find a chart showing current construction sites, how they are lit etc etc,

Thank you

Brendan

Neither am I, EdBaynon.
Perhaps it makes you feel good.
I am sure that there are sketch maps available and as I don't often sail in these waters, I thought that rather than re-invent the wheel, I would ask the experts, those who do sail here.

Sketch maps, AA atlases, charts... It's all so confusing isn't it?

Firstly having sailed past some of these sites I can asure that if you keep a proper lookout you will see them. If you have up to date charts with the latest corrections I should expect you will have few problems.

Secondly good seamanship should ensure any prudent mariner avoids such problems.

I've done one for the Irish Sea for you. Nasty windfarmy bits in red. Just as good as official NTM's without having to trawl through all the boring wordy bits.
