Manual to power bimini top

For someone my age, the bimini top on my Princess P43 is very heavy to raise or lower manually and I read in MBY magazine some P43 owners have changed from manual to power operation.
Wonder how practical or expensive this is ? Do I need a completely new power bimini top or just add on or retrofit some power supply component to the existing bimini ? Thanks.

You can do this with a Powerbim mod from Makefast. That have a good website. They use rack and pinion hydraulics and a tiny hydraulic pump kit, similar to what us used on cabriolet cars. Suggest contact Makefast/powerbim. I have owned a couple of these and they are good quality. They supply oem to Princess and an installer like Landau could do the work if you don't have another installer that you already work with
