I have a Henderson Manual Bilge Pump on my Dufour 27, and i cannot figure out what is the problem is.
I think that the end from Bilge to Bilge Pump is Blocked. How do i unblock this area.
It is sucking a little but not enough to get a large amount of water up into the pump and out.
Thankyou Jordan

@@@@I can feel a slight sucking where the bilges are but the water is not getting

Possibly not priming perhaps due to the inlet valve not closing.

However check inlet and outlet hoses, but be aware that there could be a strum box incorporating a foot valve on the hose end in the bilge. If so check that also.

Check any valve at the hull on the outlet is open.

If inlet and outlet are clear inspect/clean or preferably replace the valves in the pump..

You will find an exploded diagram of the pump and spares list on the Whale pumps website

I asked the same question on this forum some time ago (also Henderson, also Dufour) and was advised to check the valves. Indeed when I opened the pump I found a 1 cm tear in the outlet valve. The first chandlery I tried (Ramsgate) was able to sell me a spare kit for 19 £. After replacement of the outlet valve, the pump worked perfectly.
Good luck!

If you have a blockage on the outlet hose and the pump is working, it will hydraulically lock itself. This means you just won't be able to pump at all. If this is what's happening, be careful when you remove the inspection plate.

If you're pumping the handle but nothing's coming out, you may have a dammaged valve or even a torn diaphragm.

If it's a Mk 5, parts are available. If it's aMk4 they arent. The two designs have different valves and the Mk5 valves won't fit the Mk 4. Make sure you assemble the pump correctly, esp if you replace the diaphragm.
