Well if nobody else is going to respond I will , the team do excellent work for all sorts of marine organisations and maybe one day I'll get to meet the man himself , dismal pics though , maybe Martin would like to try again to explain exactly what his lot do again ? the explanation in the ECF isn't overly clear but his previous posts give a good idea

The T25 is neither a her nor a he but an it
This automatic trolling programme was instigated by the Spillane programme and is desighned to remotely interact with humans on forums in an attempt to convince them that the T25 actually exists whereas in reality it is simply a set of predesignated responses to predictable questions and comments .
Once activated the T25 automatically selects posts requiring a response in order to further the belief that the T25 actually exists as a human entity .
Should you require further clarification on this matter please contact totallylosttheplot@fromplanetzog.com advising them that you have inadvertently interacted with this programme and you will be provided with all relevant immunisation downloads in order to protect you from any ill effects caused by this interaction
After all , you don't think an ordinary human being could achieve such results , do you ,,

well do you ?

Didn't think so /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Great pics, thank you for the kind wishes too. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

We had a great day, met loads of nice people and even signed some up. We also raised a few squids.

Now for some bios.... (people who bore easily should skip this and go straight to Lakey's photo selection /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif )

The Maritime Volunteer Service is a national charity which was created when the MoD stopped giving the Navy money for stuff like auxiliary personell, we have about 450 members spread over almost 40 units. Aside from training ourselves and helping to train other organisations we also respond to things like the Napoli, the floods, help out at coastal airshows and other festivals; oh yes and the odd UXB too. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

(We are actively forming a Dover unit at the moment, if anyone fancies it)

I am a marine chandler, fabricator and fitter. I worked among the narrowboats of the Derbyshire/Nottinghamshire waterways as a whippersnapper and then moved down to Wapping in London. I then moved to Marlow briefly and then to Portsmouth for ages, until now where I reside by a beach in Kent. Boats are my passion, built my first one at 12 and my first one floated two years later. I keep a sailing boat in Sovereign Harbour and a big inflatable in Ramsgate.

The Landrover in the photos is called Sea Jay and she used to be an ambulance for the Staffs, now she is is semi-retired and has an international call sign and everything. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Was doing a bio for my car going too far? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Enough people have given links to the MVS, so I won't repeat them.
Some Units have a real good time. My Unit, in Portsmouth, has at it's disposal, a 34 foot Harbour Launch, a 6 meter RIB with twin 75hp Hondas on the back, and a 4 meter RIB with a Honday 25hp, on the back.

We have been involved in Marshalling for the Fleet Review, marshalling for IFOS at Portsmouth, manning the 'door' at the Coatsguard office in Weymouth during the Napoli incident, providing craft (and manning them) to protect the exclusion zone around Napoli, we provided a crewed 6 meter RIB for the Volvo World Youth Sailing Championships at Weymouth last year and this weekend I have been on our 4 metre RIB alongside other MVS members who manned our harbour launch and 6 meter RIB at the Powerboat festival at the Isle of Wight.

So you might say we also have fun /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
