OK, here's a starter-for-10 re organising this. The scores on the doors were as follows, I think, on the other thread a month ago

TCM and Mrs TCM - Balearix 25/6 till mid July
Deleted User - Palma, 11-26 July
Englander - generally around, coming from Ibiza, would prefer W coast but happy to do 3 day cruise and get to Cala D'Or
MedDreamer - 13-20 July, much prefers Cala D'Or as has to do Menorca too
Me - Will be around (and free) Palma 4,5,6,7 July and Cala D'Or 13/14 July
Son Vida - possibility that their annual trip trip to SV will coincide with dates, in which case will join the party if they can, sarnies on my boat for them :-)
Anyone else, feel free to join in

So weighing all that up, can I suggest 14 July (Tuesday) in Cala D'Or or a bay somehwere around there? That's in time for MedDream to get to Menorca for 2nd half of his holiday, Deleted User will have arrived, TCM will still be there but about to leave and head eastwards, etc. That date just seems to work reasonbly ok.

No massive organisation needed. I'll be on a berth in Cala D anyway. Suggest swap mobile numbers by PM and just find ourselves at an anchorage around 11am for a long lunch afternoon and evening on 14 July. Any "to all" messages can just be posted on this thread. Some said they will have teenagers, and I assume they can tender into Cala D'Or for evening fleshpotic entertianment? Please would one of the blearix experts here suggest an exact anchorage. I'll get there early to bagsy a spot and latecomers can raft up, etc etc. I'll try to have a full freezer and fridgery and booze, and lots of ice made, etc :-)

Mr and Mrs SV you are welcome to have a roof over your head on Braveheart if all this happens to tie in with your pilgrimage ( /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif) to SV. I have a bunch of investment bankers aboard (they got lotsa time on their hands...) for the 11/12 wkend but they depart Monday 13 July early. You're welcome to join the boat that day 13/7 (in Cala D'Or) and stay on it that night, which works well if you've just had your weekend in SV, or just come for the day 14/7 - up to you. Likewise stay on the boat the night of 14/7 if you wish. Double cabin with ensuite avaialbe to you. I'll clear off to London afternoon 15/7 leaving the boat berthed at Cala D'Or but stewardess will stay on board so you can depart whenever suits you

If any other forumites are around then please shout and join us. Likewise if this proposal doesn't work for anyone feel free to suggest an alternative - this is just a starter for 10 :-)

BTW I'll be around Alcudia/Pollensa/Formentor for the 18/19 July wkend, and plan to cross back to Antibes Monday 20/7 via a fuel stop in Mahon

TCM, I'll be in Palma 4-7 July so might come to find you in some bay then, if you're around then

Just to say that Puerto Pollensa has its annual fireworks display in the bay (around 11.00pm) on Sunday 19th July - they set off the fieworks from the beach and floating pontoons so if you are in the area watch out what you tie up to.

You need to book a table at the Stay Restaurant in Pollensa - close to the marina.

A restaurant that must not be missed.

Not sure where 111KAB is saying that the fireworks will be but I think the restaurant could provide a fab view and the food is simply the best.

I will need to change a couple of arrangements but if I can do so then that arrangement looks fine for us.

Quite agree about Stay, we were there twice last week /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Did the "Mr & Mrs" thing on Saturday night where SWMBO picked my meal and I picked hers, the waiter joined in keeping each meal a secret and choosing a suitable wine for us. I ended up with a fabulous fish stew and duck, SWMBO was a bit disappointed with her Tuna Baguette /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The fixed menu at €30 all in is fantastic value as well

Agree re Stay but any of the sea front restaurants will provide good views the only problem is they are all packed on that night. If you arrive the night before (18th) that is the night of the annual beach party with disco/dancing on the beach. Really the closest place to the 'action' is Tolo's Bar/Restaurant.
If you do go to Stay I would suggest sticking to Menu d'el Dia at 32 euro incl booze - the chefs there will be very busy and a la carte may be a bit hit 'n miss that night. You will definitely need to book ANY restaurant with the view.

Thanks for the info - I don't know Pollensa at all well.

I would have thought best view of fireworks is from boat looking towards shore though, and avoids the crowds?

I am still concerned at lack of obvious spreadsheet but praps jfm is feigning a heyho whatever mood but secretly cribbing from a spreadsheet, and hence knows who is where and when.

Cala longa is likely spot at ent to cala d'or. Es trenc ok if big n'ly. Charles keilly in fline calador wil try fix bustd flines and is ace at concerned platitudes when bits 3wks distant.

I will txt or post or blog gps coords to 3 dec places. This workd well last year at cannes firwx - i was there front row anchrd midday, loads of little boats get a spot in afternoon... and with exact coords jfm sq58 growls up oops excuse me sorree, rafts up after 9pm and 10mins be4 showtime!

Magnum also on othr side threatening cat splitting. Actually magnum mite turn up for a day out on this and take the mick out of my shirts.

Ok ok, there will be a spreadsheet, posted here :-)

Cala Longa sounds fine. We should keep it to there or close by, as Es Trenc is too far west for Med Dreamer. He is coming from Alcudia, and only has a week ,and has to get back east becuase he has promised his daughter a Menorca trip and it's their last trip on the boat. (I didn't get all that info from my secret spreadsheet, much).

Charles Keily is kindly organising me a berth in Cal D'Or and temp membership of the club or whatever so is being very kind. He's a good chap in my book! But I do imagine he is excellent at platitudes when the boat is all busted, too.

Yes, excellent, txt yr coords. That was funny in Cannes, but worked well. Quite a triumph eh, a bunch of Rosbifs queue jumping a bay full of Frogs :-)

Latest is that Mr + Mrs Nautical are organising the TWOCery of a demo Absolute from the Palma dealer to join the party, no doubt very IPS-pirouettishly.

Please clearly state which Datum you are using, I wouldn't want to use the wrong one and miss you all

Re: Mallorca datum

Use of "mallorca" means this is upmarket meet, completely diffrent from dreadful meets in "majorca" for those with a load of v obvious "mum" tattoos etc.

Datum used will be um the 14th july!... wtf is he on about? blimmin grammar school smarty pants....

Re: Mallorca datum

Huh! not familiar with that term then eh, that clearly explains why for the last three winters you've ended up in the Caribbean when all you meant to do was leave Antibes for a day at anchor in Villefranche!

Do you not realise that if I use the wrong datum I could be as much as 00.000'007 degrees out, with that level of shoddy passage planning whats the point of giving co-ordinates to 3 decimal places - I ask you! There I would be anchored wondering where everybody was and wondering what all the noise was on the cat a few yards away!

Yes indeed it will be a classy Mallorcan get together, in fact I will even be wearing a shirt..........................errrr..................to hide the "mum" tattoo............. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
