Thinking about taking the car over to Mallorca. Never gone wrong by copying Hurricane so looking to take the Bilboa ferry from UK. But which is the best ferry to get to Mallorca?

I assume that Barcelona is the best departure point. I see transmediterranea is more expensive than baleara. Is that because it is significantly better?

Always gone with Baleara and from Denia as its a shorter and cheaper crossing.
It stops at Ibiza on the way for 30 mins to offload, it use to go at around 18.00 and got you at 3 or 4 in the morning?

Interesting. What port did you land at from the UK? I don't think there would be time to get from Bilboa (midday) for a 18.00 crossing from Denia

I’ve done Barcelona (transmediterranea) overnight and the (now preferred) early afternoon departure to Palma. The ‘style’ depends on what ship you’re on, remember it’s mainly for freight, car loading can be a challenge on some.
High speed via Ibiza to Denia is my preferred route back (mainly because of the increased risk of being in Barcelona) however, when I checked earlier this year, the ferry had added Formentera as an additional stop, which largely removed the ‘high speed’ from the journey, perhaps there’s a different time table in the summer. When leaving Palma their are two departure points, it’s not always clear on the tickets which to use. If it’s the one in the middle of town, don’t go early, they won’t let you in and there’s nowhere to park.
One last thing, if the weathers bad, high speed is the first to cancel!
