Mallorca boaters - a date for your diary

OK it is a bit far off in the future but on August 12th 2026 there will be total eclipse of the sun in Mallorca and the totality line goes pretty much through Palma and Cala D'Or.

I have seen two eclipses now and they are an incredible spectacle, not to be missed. Having seen the 1999 one in France I waited 18 years for the one in the USA this year. It was well worth the wait.

If you can't wait until then, the one in 2024 goes right through Niagara Falls. I'll see you there!

Agreed. We were on our boat in Cherbourg for the 1999 eclipse and it was indeed spectacular. Apart from the spectacle, another reason to look forward to the eclipse in Mallorca is that the weather is likely to be perfect for it
