I can't help with price but would love to find something available - I've only tried Mallorca but can't find a mooring for any price for 40+' Any idea of Nice availability?

Re: sofF Annual Fees

Wdn't have thought any space in Nice, for that size, it's loads of local fishy stuff or massive superyachts up for sale and bit of a dump except for a night or two. Loads of places further west but price is determined by security and whether dump or not. Antibes not very secure probably 60000FF, la Napoule more secure so 70000FF, but always tricky availablity UNLESS you buy boat from the chap in the marina and stipulate the condition in which case the berth magically appears, and always at the correct rack rate never more or less, despite intense demand, all totally in line with french weird lefty capitalism.

Karl, you won't get loads of renting in SFrance: there's lots of weird french types who drive up mountains without prebooking and they do the same with a boat - just walk in the shop and ask what they have, and it's a smaller market anyway. Majorca will give more rental, longer season, more prebooking, but there the pressure is more intense and becoming essential to buy boat there and not without berth - or buy a berth. Club de mar is dirt cheap, only a moderate dump, but nice town, good for shops and nice places to go i.e. anywhere else.

Ah securrity expect to pay another 15000 FF min for looking after a bit, spraying it with water ten minutes before you arrive, then advising of scratches from long-vanished neighbours, and no. punctured fenders and/or lost shorepower leads. This service known as "guardiennage" , derived from boring newspaper title meaning complete rubbish

Re: sofF Annual Fees

Dont know what your view of a 'Dump' is Sof is generally not a dump & Club de Mar has the highest security of any marina we've ever been in, virtually impossible to get a mooring and by no means cheap. If there is any 18m moorings going there (I already have 1) my friend will pay in excess of £200,000 & yes we know there is only 18/19 years left on the lease

Paid approx GBP 8500 for a 12M mooring in Port de Pollenca this year (shocking for two bollards & a piece of concrete with a number painted on it, but worth the money for the location)...I think the next size up is 15M...not sure how much these are though...you could try contacting Barnard Hamilton International (Fairline peeps) who may be able to provide you with more accurate info on mooring availability & prices for the area.
