Maldon wrecks on the telly Dec 3

Thanks for the "heads up" too.

More years ago than I care to remember as member then of Maldon Yacht Club kept our first keel boat on a mooring opposite the slip and ashore in the winter in the clubs yard.

Might have changed now but in those days the unmade access road to the club ran past the graveyard and often in negotiating the potholes had to slow and would see the occasional salvor over the bank wielding some fearsome instrument to hack something worthwhile from a hulk.

Occasionally a new hulk would appear to be reduced by the folk looking for timber or other materials - fire sometimes smoked for days.

Although "graveyard" has a grim image - always thought from the bones of the "old uns" the locals were making the most of what was left - bit of a community resource - - - - probably not like that now though.

Look forward to the programme

Interesting program, but the expert talking about the U-boat in the Medway was not very knowledgeable. The sub has already been identified as almost certainly U 122, a type UBIII which has 4 bow torpedoes. As usual with the internet, there are lots of experts talking without definite hard information and many forums repeat some misinformation.

The pressure hull will soon be gone :).

If thats the best Ch4 can do then I dont know why they bother. Waste of my time watching it. Kept going as I thought it can only get better, but it didn't.

Would have been happier if they had found my ST50 wind indicator which I lost off my mast head last year.

Unc

Don't feel bad Unc. I dropped a cheap B&Q saw over the side of the boat, as one does. No bother I thought,, so out with my expensive magnet thing, lobbed it over the side and only then realised I had not tied the string on :-)

Muppet or what?
