Making a tool for glow pin removal ( eberspacher D2)

I need to make a tool for the removal of glow pins ( eberspacher D2 ) I did make one by cutting a slot in a box spanner. The particular spanner may have been a bit thin walled for the job as it used to open up if the pin was tight.

Has anyone had success making these and can you remember the make/type of spanner?

I just cut a slot in a standard depth 1/2" drive socket and it works fine.

The pins I have in stock come with a substantial tool in the box, I assumed they all did, mind you I'm no Eber expert. The socket idea sounds quite robust though.

Yes David, I have plenty of good pins but find that the gauze screens need replacing more frequently.

Drop me a PM, I have spare tools and don't do Ebers any more, normally gave them to the customer after fitting a new pin. BTW I have quite a stock of older Eber parts (new but been kicking around a while) if anybody needs stuff cheap, sorry for the blatant plug but some of the bits I have are pretty scarce and may help somebody.
