I hope this is the right forum, there certainly are a lot of choices...

I would appreciated receiving recommendations, pro or con, for bareboat charterers, sail or power, in Mallorca.

We are looking at chartering a bareboat (sail or power) for some ten days to go leisurely eastward from, perhaps, San Telm but definitely from Andratx to Palma to Santanyí and perhaps beyond, with the purpose of visiting calas, soaking up sunshine (and wine and food :-) and generally just not being stressed.

Our target dates are 10-20 July.

We have a crew of at least three, possibly four or five, of both genders so something in the 12-15 meter range is prolly the best solution. My sense is that with such a lot the boat will be approximately the same or less cost in time or money than getting all the politically correct hotel rooms, hiring an auto, and hurtling ourselves hither and fro about the south coast of the island.

:-)

Any comments, suggestions, and, especially, recommendations for local charterers would be most appreciated. I went to the classifieds in the latest YM without receiving any particular enlightenment or inspiration....

Kind regards,

Andy

We are just about to go on our 11th charter with Mare Nostrum in Palma,
they have a range on sailing cats, power cars and sailing mono's

Vanessa speaks very good English and returns email very quickly.
You might find that most of the fleet is booked up for July by now.

Marina Yachting are English and based in Port Andratx, why not try them. Their website is marinayachting.net

There is also a company called Sirena Yachting (google it + Mallorca) also based in Andratx... don't know what they have got but I now they are there!

Best of THe Balearics in Feb '04 PBO (see boat reports section of this very website!) will give some good info on a week long Mallorca charter!

Thanks to all...

Vanessa and MareNostrum replied instantly, but are booked for my times. I shall pursue the others.

Fair winds, Andy
